September 20th’s Friday night lights was a special day for the South Gate Rams football team. The Rams faced Bell High School in their first league game in what was also the Mayor’s Trophy game and they absolutely showed out. South Gate came ready to play and scored multiple touchdowns, the defense was exceptional, and they defeated a long time rival with a score of 26-7. They were led by senior running back Edward Miranda who had 3 touchdowns and by the end of the night the Rams found themselves lifting the Mayor’s trophy. Not only was the night capped off with a win, but the Ram Band, cheer and dance team stole the show at halftime with a fantastic performance, capturing what a great night this was for all of South Gate High School. Therefore, the game in general was amazing and was a great opportunity to see our school in action.
