Two months since the death of rapper Malcolm James McCormick, known professionally as Mac Miller, many other artists have shown their appreciation and respect towards the artist. Mac Miller was scheduled to perform a concert on Halloween Day at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles before his death, but many other artists performed at the theater as a tribute to him instead. Including: Travis Scott, John Mayer, SZA, Chance the Rapper, Ty Dolla $ign, Action Bronson, Domo Genesis, Earl Sweatshirt, Venice Staples, ScHoolboy Q, J.I.D, Anderson . Paak, Thundercat, and many more artists. Many artists and stars that couldn’t make it were still a part of the tribute by being featured on a video that was later played on a huge screen at the concert. Many of these artists included: Pharrell Williams, Donald Glover, Pusha T, G-Eazy, Tyler the Creator, and more as they talked about how Miller influenced them during his lifetime. The event was filled with many sentimental moments and they even kept a recording of Mac Miller’s voice playing in the background which made everyone even more emotional. All the artists joined Mac Miller’s family on stage at the end of the concert and comforted them, especially his mother while Miller’s hit “Best Day Ever” was playing in the background.
