Out with the old, and in with the new. The school year has begun, and it is time to boost those GPAs. Whether you’re a freshman or a senior, you have to keep your grades up in order to complete your credits and graduate. It is okay if you don’t understand the material or if you are struggling, what is not okay is that you get a bad grade in your class because you didn’t do anything to solve your struggles.
There are many resources that you can turn to for help. Talk to your teachers; many teachers stay after school or you can approach them at lunch. Although some teachers might seem intimidating, they will still be willing to help you because they want you to succeed not to fail. If you would rather get help somewhere else, then you can attend the after school tutoring sessions offered here at school in the arc rooms. These students help you out by explaining your homework to you. These tutoring sessions are operated by alumni here that have most likely already completed the course you’re struggling with.
If staying after school isn’t for you or if you don’t have time, then there are other options you can turn to. You can befriend people in your class that are doing well and ask them to help you. Not only are you building up your social skills, but you are benefitting in your studies. You can also use Khan Academy in the comfort of your house. Khan Academy offers many explanations and review problems to help you. Whatever you choose to do, the most important thing is that you keep your grades up. The climb is hard, but the view is great.
