The Toronto Raptors have always had disappointing seasons over the last four years. They placed either the 2nd or 3rd and made fans believe that they could make a lot of noise in the playoffs, but as soon as they go up against LeBron James, their season ends all too abruptly.
DeMar Derozan and Kyle Lowry have been a fraction of themselves when it comes playoff time. However, this year from seemingly out of nowhere when the Celtics looked destined to take the East, the Raptors take the first seed in conference standings.
The Cavaliers and Celtics have been struggling late in the season, while the Raptors have gone on a win streak, defeating some of the best teams in the league. The Raptors ended the Rockets 16 game win streak. They’ve beaten both the Celtics and Cavaliers this season, which will most likely be their most difficult opponents in the playoffs. This Raptors squad looks like a completely new team. Derozan and Lowry can confidently rely on their teammates to get the job done. This year, with the struggles the Cavaliers are facing, the Raptors seem like they could finally make the Finals and challenge whoever they go up against from the West.
