Dark Chocolate vs. Milk Chocolate

Chocolate has many benefits. Chocolate is can help with sadness because it contains flavonoids which are anti-inflammatory, anti-clotting and have antioxidants. Certain choclates have been known to reduce the risk of diabetes by improving insulin sensitivity. Dark chocolate releases serotonin and relaxes the blood vessels of the cardiovascular system, which in turn can elevate your mood. Antioxidants help your skin protect itself from UV damage resulting in improved skin complexion. Dark chocolate widens arteries and promotes healthy blood flow. It can help prevent the buildup of plaque which can block arteries. Eating dark chocolate every day reduces the risk of heart disease by 1/3. Both milk and dark chocolate contain these beneficial qualities; however milk chocolate contains other sweeteners as which make it less healthy altogether. If you eat chocolate with the intent of being healthy, dark chocolate is the way to go because milk chocolate is higher in fat, lowering its overall health benefits. Scientist have agreed that eating chocolate every day is healthy if eaten in small portions preferably about 3.oz spread out over the day in 2-3 servings.
