The New and Improved Grapes

The New and Improved Grapes

by Edith Carranza

I recently discovered these delightful grapes at Sams Club, while sampling a variety of foods. They may look like your ordinary grapes, but believe me, they are not. These are Cotton Candy Grapes. They appeared in grocery stores in 2011 someone hybridized a Concord-like grape and a common grocery store grape. They look identical to regular green grapes, but taste like cotton candy! They have a very strong taste and are a little too sweet in my opinion; each contain roughly 18g of sugar, but they are very delicious. Unfortunately, at $8.95 they are a little too expensive for grapes, but if you like grapes and cotton candy, this is the fruit for you!

Cotton Candy Burrito

Cotton Candy Burrito

A new rainbow dessert has been making headlines on every social media site. The Cotton Candy Burrito consists of three ice cream scoops wrapped in a layer of cotton candy. It looks amazing and is only $5.50. However, with cotton candy totaling around 220 calories, and three scoops of ice cream adding countless more, who knows how many calories are in this dessert.  Unfortunately, the Cotton Candy Burrito was created in Ontario, Canada in a restaurant called Sugar Sugar. It isn’t served in the U.S, but if you ever go to Canada you should definitely try it.
