The Los Angeles Dodgers are aware that 1988 was a very long time ago because it was the last time they won a World Series Championship. Since 2012, the Dodgers have won their division each season.  The owners of the team do the same thing they do every year – spend the majority of their money on the major league roster. The annual payroll fort the team is $227,329,905, which is the highest payroll in the MLB. In 2012 the team spent $260 million on a year contract for first basemen Adrian Gonzalez. 

Shortstop, Corey Seager is one of the best players on the Dodgers right now. The 22-year-old finished third in the National League Most Valuable Player. Dodger fans are eager for a championship win, their win in 1988 was the last time fans felt the excitement of a World Series success. The win was against the Oakland Athletics, the roster in 1988 is considered one of the Los Angeles Dodgers best teams with 94 wins and 67 losses. Kirk Gibson hit an iconic World Series’ homer and was named the league MVP.
