Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, also known as Ronaldinho, was born on March 21, 1980 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Ronaldinho started playing organized soccer at the age of seven. When he was 13 years old, he scored 23 goals in one soccer match! He led his junior team to championships and soon his name made its way into soccer history. Freshman, Armando Orozco, says, “That is very unlikely to happen in an arranged soccer match. You must be a combination of Usain Bolt and David Beckham and have all the time in the world in order to do such accomplishment.”

One year after Ronaldinho made his debut in the 1998 Copa Libertadores, he was invited to join the Brazilian national team to compete in Mexico in the Confederations Cup. Many got to see his great talent and in 2001 Ronaldinho signed a contract in France to play for Paris-Saint Germain. Two years later, one of his greatest dreams became true, he signed a contract with FC Barcelona with the No. 10 jersey, worn only by the team’s most creative player. While playing for Barcelona, he won back-to-back FIFA World Player of the Year awards in 2004 and 2005. In 2008, he left Barcelona for another great team, AC Millan where he found great success. He went back to Brazil to fill in the roster for the 2014 World Cup. In 2015, he started and ended a contract with Queretaro, which now leaves him only playing with Brazil’s national team.
